There are two ways to add the Perceivant Assessments external tool to your school's Canvas LMS. 

• If available, Directly from the EduApp store on the Apps tab of Account or Course Settings
• Manually, from the Apps tab of Account or Course Settings.

Instructors may not have permissions to add external tools directly to their Canvas courses. If you do not see either of these options available, your Canvas LMS Admin will need to complete the installation.

Adding from the EduApp Store

From the Account or Course navigation menu, click on Settings, then select the Apps Tab.

In the Search box, type Perceivant. There are two different Perceivant Apps. The correct one is the one called Perceivant Assessments.

Select Perceivant Assessments App

Select the Perceivant Assessments app to open the installation page.  

Click on + Add App button.

Enter the Key and Secret

In the Add App pop-up, copy and paste the Consumer Key and Shared Secret provided by your Perceivant Implementation Manager into the appropriate fields.

Click Add App.

Once the app is installed, if you have already imported your course cartridge, return to the Modules page and click on one of the Chapter Reading assignments to double-check that the app has installed correctly.

Add Perceivant Assessments Manually

If you do not have the Perceivant Assessment App listed in your school's Canvas EduApp Store,  the Perceivant Assessments App can be added manually.

From the Account or Course navigation, click on Settings, then select the Apps tab.

Click on the View App Configurations button.

+ App

Click on the + App button.

Complete Adding the External App

In the Add App pop-up, complete the fields as follow:

Configuration Type: Manual Entry

Name: Perceivant Assessments

Consumer Key: Copy and Paste the Consumer Key provided by your Implementation Manager

Shared Secret: Copy and Paste the Shared Secret provided by your Implementation Manager

Launch URL: https://lti.perceivant.com/

Domain: lti.perceivant.com

Privacy: Public

Custom Fields:

course_id=$Canvas.course.id
timezone=$Person.address.timezone
account_id=$Canvas.account.id
account_name=$Canvas.account.name

Description: This is the tool used to enable all of the Perceivant Assessments like Guided Learning reading chapters and certain assessments.

Click on Submit.

Once the app is installed, if you have already imported your course cartridge, return to the Modules page and click on one of the Chapter Reading assignments to double-check that the app has installed correctly.
